2023 Carmody Classic Recap

The 2023 Charlie Carmody Classic is in the books, and (as expected) it was a day full of great players and entertaining basketball. 

RESULTS:

Game 1: Beecher 77 - Arthur Hill 47 
               MVP: Robert Lee (Beecher)

Game 2: Hamady 70 - Hamtramck 55
               MVP: Jakobie Boose (Hamady)

Game 3: Cass Tech 88 - Carman-Ainsworth 68
               MVP: Darius Acuff (Cass Tech)

Game 4: Grand Blanc 65 - East Lansing 51

               MVP: RJ Taylor (Grand Blanc)

RECORDS SET AND MILESTONES REACHED: 

Beecher’s Robert Lee set a pair of event records with 42 points and 17 field goals made! Cass Tech's 88 points scored as a team topped the previous record of 86 points scored by Brother Rice in 2019. Carman-Ainsworth also set an event record shooting 88.9% from the free throw line. In addition to those records, Grand Blanc's RJ Taylor scored his 1,000th career point, becoming just the second player in the Grand Blanc record books to reach that plateau.
